I have never felt comfortable being in front of the camera because I, like so many others, fall into the trap of skewed perceptions. I often find myself critiquing things about myself that I would never bring up on other people. I love how my perspective changes when I am the one taking the photos because I get to show the beauty I see as an outsider. My goal through the photos I take is to capture real moments in time, whether that be people or nature. I am very connected with portrait photos specifically when the subjects are unaware or aren't posed because so much in this world is staged or fake but for them there is no pressure to be a certain way. The principal behind my nature photos is not that different because I aim to show how beautiful the natural world is. Nature is disappearing quickly and taking pictures of places the way they are intended to be seen is necessary in order to preserve the beauty we have left.
